Thé à la mandarine : pourquoi est-il si subtil

In summary: Mandarin, sweeter and less acidic than orange, provides vitamin C, antioxidants and calming effect. Infuse zest (or juice) with organic green or black tea, hot or iced, add honey or slices. Kusmi offers Troika and Bouquet of Flowers, organic black teas with mandarin, bergamot and citrus fruits, packaged eco-responsibly.

What is the difference between tangerine, orange and clementine?

If these three fruits are part of the same family, that of citrus fruits, they come from different trees: the mandarin is the fruit of the mandarin tree, the orange from the orange tree and the clementine from the clementine tree. Where it gets a little (very) complicated is that the clementine tree is a hybrid tree, resulting from the cross between an orange tree and a mandarin tree. It therefore makes sense that in terms of taste, clementine borrows from both orange (sweet and tangy) and mandarin (more fragrant, less acidic).

Why is tangerine tea a good idea?

Although it is popular for its flavors, the tangerine has many seeds (like lemon). Which makes tasting it not always easy or pleasant. Extracting its juice or using its zest (its outer layer) appears to be a good way to get around this little inconvenience... In addition, the sweetness, sweetness and fruitiness of mandarin combine particularly well with the aromas of black tea, intense and full-bodied, which they attenuate.

What are the benefits of tangerine?

Like many fruits, the tangerine has many good points. Rich in water and fiber, it is low in calories. Its high content of vitamin C and antioxidants make it an ally in strengthening the immune system. Consuming it regularly could prevent minor winter illnesses such as colds and flu, but also improve digestion after a meal that is too rich or too fatty. Finally, mandarin is said to have a calming action, so much so that its essential oil is recommended for people suffering from stress or sleep disorders.

How to prepare homemade tangerine tea?

To begin with, it is recommended to use tangerines from organic farming, so that their skins do not contain any pesticides. Depending on your tastes, you can opt for green tea with mandarin or black tea with mandarin. To make it, you need to infuse tangerine zest at the same time as your natural tea (green or black). Want an even more fruity or fragrant drink? Add the tangerine juice. Fans of pretty presentations will not fail to slip in a slice of tangerine, while those with a sweet tooth will add a spoonful of sugar or honey. In summer, don't hesitate to try mandarin tea in an iced tea version. Prepare in a carafe and place in a cool place, adding ice cubes just before tasting.

How to prepare a homemade tangerine infusion?

At the end of the day, if you are sensitive to theine, mandarin can be consumed in the form of mandarin infusion, or mandarin herbal tea (it's the same thing). To do this, infuse a teaspoon of tangerine zest for ten minutes in a cup of simmering water, before filtering.

In which Kusmi teas do we find tangerine?

Outside of the tangerine season (from October to February), we recommend tasting tangerine-flavored teas. At Kusmi, two mixtures contain it: the Troika, an intense and refreshing black tea, flavored with bergamot, orange and mandarin and Bouquet of Flowers, the first Kusmi tea (created 150 years ago!), an organic black tea with floral and fruity flavors of bergamot, lemon, orange, mandarin and ylang-ylang. Like all Kusmi teas and herbal teas, these two recipes include aromatic plants from organic farming (certified organic designation), which are mixed, flavored and packaged in France, then packaged in an eco-responsible way.
