The matcha, from Japan to the rest of the world

The matcha, fine powder of green tea leaves, is traditionally prepared and consumed during a tea ceremony, emblematic for the Japanese. But its use has become more widespread in many food sectors. In particular, there are a lot of pastries at matcha from the most traditional to the most Western: mochis, doriyaki, madeleines, logs or even macaroons, the possibilities are endless.

The matcha also benefits from strong popularity among drinks: dalgona matcha latte, chai matcha slat, matcha white chocolate latte, bubble tea green tea matcha, matcha green juice… Today we offer you a simple, effective, delicious and VEGAN recipe: green tea matcha organic latte, with coconut milk.

The matcha mania

Through the matcha mania, numerous variations of drinks matcha were developed. In particular, we have offered you a recipe for dalgona matcha, inspired by the very popular South Korean whipped latte.

For latte lovers, but not only that, today we offer you a chai recipe matcha latte that will quickly make you forget your daily morning coffee. Skeptical? We'll prove it to you in less than 5 minutes!

Ingredients to make your chai matcha slat:

  • 1 teaspoon of green tea powder matcha organic
  • 1 bag of black Chai tea, we recommend our comforting Kashmir Tchaï
  • ½ cup hot water
  • ½ cup milk (we also have a recipe for matcha vegan coconut milk latte right here)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup

Start by steeping a bag of black chai tea in half a cup of hot water for 3 minutes. In a bowl, sift a teaspoon of cocoa powder matcha organic. This will allow you to avoid coming across lumps of matcha very bitter. Then pour in the hot black chai tea and mix with a whisk until you obtain a frothy dark green liquid.

It's up to you to decide now whether you prefer a comforting hot drink or an energizing cold drink.

For a cellar matcha iced latte:

All you have to do is take the milk out of your fridge and pour 300 ml of it into a glass (with ice cubes if you wish). Then add the chai mixturematcha that you prepared previously, with 1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup. Mix everything and you can enjoy a matcha latte as refreshing as it is nutritious!

For a matcha hot latte:

Heat the 300 ml of milk and pour them into a glass. Add the Thai tea mixturematcha prepared in the previous step with 1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup. Mix everything using a milk frother to enjoy the matcha the smoothest latte you will ever taste!

The matcha coconut milk latte, a vegan twist

The matcha is particularly associated with its health benefits due to its high antioxidant content, earning it the label “superfood”. Social networks have greatly contributed to spreading the message about its health benefits, by creating a micro-community of matcha lovers. Are you one of them?

Ingredients to make your recipe matcha vegan latte:

  • 1 teaspoon of green tea powder matcha organic
  • ½ cup hot water
  • ½ cup coconut milk from a carton
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of concentrated coconut milk
  • coconut shavings (optional)

Start by sifting a teaspoon of powder into a bowl. matcha organic. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar then pour in ½ cup of hot water. Whisk in a W shape until the mixture becomes foamy.

In a glass, mix ½ cup of coconut milk with 1 teaspoon of concentrated coconut milk using a milk frother. Add a few ice cubes then pour the matcha. Add some coconut shavings if you wish, and your matcha vegan coconut milk latte is ready to enjoy!
