Matcha, from Japan to the rest of the world
Matcha, a fine powder made from green tea leaves, is traditionally prepared and consumed during a tea ceremony, emblematic of Japan. But its use has become widespread across many areas of food. There are countless matcha pastries, from the most traditional to the most Western: mochi, dorayaki, madeleines, yule logs and macarons; the possibilities are endless.
Matcha is also hugely popular in drinks: dalgona matcha latte, chai matcha latte, white chocolate matcha latte, matcha green tea bubble tea, matcha green juice… Today, we offer you a simple, effective, delicious and VEGAN recipe: an organic matcha green tea latte with coconut milk.
Matcha green tea powder is good, organic is even better!
As you will have understood, the star of our recipes is our organic matcha green tea powder.
You may be wondering what matcha is and why it is only available in powder form. Quite simply because matcha green tea powder is the result of grinding high-quality green tea leaves that have first been dried in the sun. This is how it gets its distinctive green colour.
Did you know? Matcha is the only tea whose leaf is entirely absorbed by the water. So you drink the very essence of the leaf, not just its infusion!

Ingredients for your vegan matcha latte recipe:
- 1 teaspoon of organic matcha green tea powder
- ½ cup of hot water
- ½ cup of carton coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
- 1 teaspoon of concentrated coconut milk
- coconut flakes (optional)
Start by sifting one teaspoon of organic matcha powder into a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar, then pour in ½ cup of hot water. Whisk in a W shape until the mixture becomes frothy.
In a glass, use a milk frother to mix ½ cup of coconut milk with 1 teaspoon of concentrated coconut milk. Add a few ice cubes, then pour in the matcha. Add a few coconut flakes if you wish, and your vegan coconut milk matcha latte is ready to enjoy!
