tisane rose bienfaits

In summary:
The rose, a timeless symbol of beauty, also appeals for its benefits. Rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, it soothes, protects and comforts. In herbal tea, cosmetics or cooking, it offers natural softness and well-being. Discover its virtues, how to prepare a homemade infusion and where to find it in Kusmi Tea creations.

Why is rose so popular?

Celebrated since Antiquity by painters and poets, the rose is a flower admired for its beauty – with petals ranging from immaculate white to deep purple – and its most intoxicating scent. Its appearance is thought to be far older, as fossils found in the western United States date back more than 40 million years. Still found growing wild (there are several thousand varieties of rosebush), it is also one of the most widely cultivated plants in the world. “The queen of flowers”, as it is known, is primarily sold for aesthetic reasons, filling florists’ stalls around the world. When incorporated into culinary recipes or cosmetics, rose can take different forms: rose syrup, rose water or natural rose extract.

What are the health benefits of rose?

Like many plants, rose contains antioxidants, known to help slow ageing. Its petals also contain mineral salts, micronutrients essential to the proper functioning of the body. In addition, rose is said to have analgesic properties that may relieve sore throats and ulcers, treat spots and soothe burns, while the presence of vitamin C may strengthen the immune system, contribute to wound healing, maintain healthy blood vessels and have a positive effect on our mood.

What are the benefits of rose herbal tea?

Beyond the properties of rose, herbal teas and infusions (they are the same thing) are wellness allies, as they help boost hydration. Water intake is of course vital, but also necessary for eliminating toxins. While the digestive system carries out the elimination process (also called “drainage”), infusions are an additional way to drink water (we do not drink enough of it!) and thus help the body.

How do you make homemade rose herbal tea?

It is possible to make your own rose infusion. To do so, pick a beautiful fresh rose from your garden (but take care to avoid flowers that may have been treated with pesticides). Remove the petals and place them in a tea filter. Allow around 20 g of rose petals per litre of water. Steep them in water at 100°C for around ten minutes. Enjoy the herbal tea hot or leave it to cool. Other options, if you do not have fresh organic flowers nearby: buy dried rose petals or dried rosebuds to infuse (they are even more visually appealing!).

How can you flavour homemade rose herbal tea?

The flavour of rose can be complemented and rebalanced, if needed, with other plant flavours that will also bring further benefits to the body. We particularly recommend trying rose-chamomile, rose-hibiscus, rose-lychee, rose-lavender, rose-elderflower, rose-blackberry, rose-rooibos or rose-citrus zest pairings. Those with a sweet tooth will be sure to add a little honey, brown sugar, maple syrup or agave syrup to their rose infusion.
