Yunnan Pu Erh Tea.

An organic dark tea from China, in a league of its own.

Pu Erh is a grand tea in all senses of the term. Firstly, it is physically imposing! Grown in the Yunnan province in China, it is among a variety of tea bushes with particularly large leaves. Secondly, it is rare thanks to its fermentation process that has made it a truly inimitable Chinese tea.

In short, Pu Erh is one of the dark teas. Its post-fermentation process involves a long, gradual, and fully natural drying phase, helping to make it so unique. The result is a tea combining intense earthy notes with sweeter hints. Pu Erh evokes its native land, takes you to the heart of the forest, and introduces you to ancestral nature.

This special drying process also reduces the level of caffeine in dark teas, meaning you can enjoy this light delicacy throughout the day. And that’s not all! Pu Erh tea is also known for getting better with age. A real gem!

So, have we shone enough light on this excellent, organic dark tea from China?

Organic tea available loose because it’s good for the planet.

The info you need

During the time of the ancient tea roads walked by the renowned processions of horses and yaks, producers in Yunnan would press Pu Erh tea into little discs (also known as “bird’s nests”) or bricks to transport them more easily to Tibet. The tea was even used as currency! Pu Erh can be kept for several years – up to several dozen for certain varieties – if it is stored in a very damp place. Needless to say, this tea is precious!
