How to prepare black tea

Water temperature
Part of the art of preparing organic black tea lies in controlling the temperature of the water, an essential element in bringing out all its benefits and aromatic richness. For a quality black tea, a water temperature of between 90°C and 100°C is ideal, allowing the tannins responsible for the tea's depth of flavor and health benefits to be released, without causing excessive bitterness.
Infusion time
The art of preparing black tea is refined by careful control of infusion time, a key parameter for revealing its full aromatic richness. Generally speaking, the recommended infusion time is between 3 and 5 minutes, depending on the desired intensity. A short infusion in hot water preserves the subtlety of the notes and avoids bitterness, while a longer infusion satisfies those seeking a fuller-bodied taste.
The quantity of tea
Preparing a tasty organic black tea is a delicate balancing act, and the quantity of tea used is decisive. For one cup, we recommend using between two and three grams of dry leaves. This may vary according to the type of black tea and personal preferences.
Brewing accessories
To brew your selection of black teas to perfection, a few accessories are essential. A ceramic or heat-resistant glass teapot promotes even infusion and maintains the ideal temperature. A stainless steel filter or tea ball is preferable for easy cleaning and to prevent flavours from altering. A measuring spoon allows you to measure the exact quantity of black tea, often one spoon per cup and one for the teapot.
