Why choose tea for breakfast in the morning?

Morning tea is above all a matter of character. Generous, invigorating and often made from black teas, it has the rare ability to stand up to a proper breakfast. Depending on the recipe, it offers malty, woody and sometimes lightly spiced notes, bringing depth and a lovely lingering finish.

Its natural theine content makes it a credible alternative to coffee for starting the day without sacrificing the pleasure of tasting tea.

And it has an advantage that coffee does not: it hydrates. After a night without drinking, the body needs it, and several studies confirm it: rehydrating as soon as you wake up is no small detail.

How do you prepare your morning tea?

Every tea has its own rules: a water temperature and steeping time to respect in order to draw out all its flavours. Nothing complicated, but it makes all the difference in the cup.

You can drink it plain to appreciate all its nuances, or with a dash of milk, English-style. It goes just as well with pastries as with toast; in short, it has a place at any breakfast table.

What are the best teas for the morning?

Black teas, the great morning classics

It is the quintessential breakfast tea: powerful, full-bodied and made to accompany morning meals. English Breakfast offers malty notes and a lingering finish. Assam focuses on generosity and comfort. Ceylon, livelier, brings a hint of lemon that wakes you up.

Our suggestion: Thé du matin n°24, our blend of three organic black teas. It lives up to its name: its place is clearly on the breakfast table, alongside your buttered toast. An organic black tea with character that is not afraid to stand out from the moment you wake up.

Green teas for a gentle awakening

Fancy something lighter? Green teas are made for that, with their vegetal notes and delicate profile. Japanese Sencha offers freshness with a hint of iodine. Chinese green teas, meanwhile, are softer and more floral. A good compromise for those who find black tea too intense.

Our suggestion: Lovely Morning, an organic green tea with maté and citrus fruits. The organic green tea-maté duo will quickly make you forget short nights, while the grapefruit-lemon-orange trio will give you the boost you need to get off to a good start. Promise. When theine meets maté, the morning is bound to be energetic.

Flavoured teas to vary the pleasures

To break the routine, flavoured teas always make an impression. Citrus blends, such as the Earl Grey in our Anastasia with its bergamot, bring freshness and vibrancy. Mild spices, flowers, fruit: throughout the seasons, there is always a new flavour to discover. The perfect way to combine character and indulgence without ever losing the spirit of traditional tea.
