Which tea should you drink for good digestion?
The most popular teas after a meal are:
- mint green tea, fresh and light, the lunchtime classic;
- spiced chai (cardamom, ginger, cinnamon), ideal after a rich meal;
- digestive caffeine-free infusions made with fennel, aniseed, verbena or lemon balm, perfect in the evening;
- green tea for its draining effect and antioxidants.
The right choice depends on the time of day, the meal and your sensitivity to caffeine.
Digestive plants and ingredients to know
Peppermint
Its refreshing effect soothes the feeling of heaviness. It pairs well with mint green tea or mint and cucumber green tea.
Fennel, aniseed, liquorice
These plants are used to aid digestion and reduce bloating. They can be found in caffeine-free infusions, ideal at the end of the day.
Ginger, cardamom, cinnamon
Chai spices are appreciated after hearty meals. Kashmir Tchaï brings these flavours together in a comforting cup.
Verbena, lemon balm, camomile
These gentle, caffeine-free plants are ideal after dinner to encourage relaxation.
When and how should you drink tea after a meal?
Ideally, wait 20 to 30 minutes after your meal. Choose a light infusion: green tea at 75 °C for 3 minutes, or an infusion at 90 °C for 5 minutes. Use 25 cl for 2 g of tea or infusion.
