What tea to drink for good digestion?

The most popular teas after a meal are:

- the mint green tea, fresh and light, the lunch reference;

- the spiced chai (cardamom, ginger, cinnamon), ideal after a rich dish;

- the digestive infusions based on fennel, anise, verbena or lemon balm, without theine, perfect in the evening;

- the green tea for its draining effect and its antioxidants.

The right choice depends on the time of day, the meal and your sensitivity to theine.

Digestive plants and ingredients to know

Peppermint

Its refreshing effect soothes the feeling of heaviness. She marries the mint green tea or the cucumber mint green tea.

Fennel, anise, licorice

These plants are used to aid digestion and limit bloating. They are found in the infusions without caffeine, ideal at the end of the day.

When and how to drink tea after a meal?

The ideal is to wait 20 to 30 minutes after the meal. Prefer a light infusion: green tea at 75°C for 3 minutes or infusion at 90°C for 5 minutes. Count 25 cl for 2 g of tea or infusion.
