Created in 2007, Detox was the very first detox tea to hit the market. Kusmi Tea inaugurated its wellness range with this lemon and lemongrass blend: the first-born of the eponymous family, it and its iconic green tin have become must-haves.
A bold and innovative blend
The drive for innovation at the heart of Kusmi’s DNA enabled the brand to launch the very first detox tea on the market, with a recipe that would come to embody both serenity and vitality for many. A simple composition, yet an elaborate recipe: a harmonious balance of diverse ingredients, ranging from wellness botanicals to natural flavourings.
The base of Kusmi’s detox blends: green tea and maté
Like all the house’s wellness recipes, the Detox blend is crafted around a base of organic Chinese green tea and organic Brazilian maté. Since 2020, Kusmi has committed to organic production across the entire supply chain: plants, fruits, spices… all ingredients are organically grown and certified under strict specifications, earning us Ecocert certification and the AB organic label.
Maté, better known as yerba maté, is a shrub from the holly family whose leaves are enjoyed as an infusion. This native plant, which grows exclusively in Latin America, has enjoyed ever-growing popularity in recent years. It is renowned for being concentrated in minerals and vitamins that are believed to strengthen the immune system and boost metabolism: what could be better for a detox tea?
Lemon, lemongrass and rosehip: ingredients that pack a punch
To this base, a touch of lemon and lemongrass is added. Also known as fever grass, this herbaceous plant, renowned across Asia for its digestive and diuretic properties, brings vibrant energy to the blend with its powerful fragrance.
Rosehip seeds—the red-orange fruit of the wild rose bush—are also included, adding the perfect finishing touch of tangy sweetness.
