The info you need

At Kusmi Tea, we've chosen to add lemon balm extract to our formulation to concentrate all the benefits of this plant. Lemon balm is a unique plant, made up of numerous phytonutrients (tannins, flavonoids, etc.) and particularly rich in rosmarinic acid. This not only reduces anxiety, but also improves sleep quality.


In fact, three separate clinical studies involving over 250 people concluded that lemon balm significantly reduced anxiety and stress, as well as sleep disorders. [2] [3] [4]


A 4th study showed a proven relaxing effect from 300 mg (i.e., one sachet of Rituel Sommeil) one hour after intake. [5]


Finally, a 5th study showed that 95% of subjects responded positively to treatment. Among them, 70% achieved complete remission for anxiety and 85% for insomnia. [6]

What is lemon balm? Why did we decide to use this ingredient for our Sleep blend?

Lemon balm is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Lamiaceae family native to the Mediterranean basin. Its fresh, slightly lemony fragrance makes it a popular aromatic plant. Its use for its beneficial properties dates back more than 2,000 years.
Today, the scientific community recognizes its effects on sleep quality. So we couldn't pass up this natural treasure with its many qualities and properties, and included it in our Rituel Sommeil.

What can we say about rooibos?

Rooibos means "red bush" in Afrikaans, one of South Africa's official languages. For this reason, and because its infusion is also flamboyant, it's nicknamed "red tea" all over the world, even though it contains no theine.

What can we say about verbena?

Verbena is an aromatic plant in the Verbenaceae family. In Roman times, this herb was considered sacred and was said to have magical powers. Verbena was soon used in folk medicine for its relaxing and soothing properties.
