2022: THE YEAR OF THE TIGER
According to Chinese astrology, in 2022 we enter the Year of the Tiger, an animal that symbolises both independence and courage.
Particularly iconic of the world’s tea-producing regions, tigers in the wild are animals that we are committed to protecting.
So to celebrate the Lunar New Year, it makes total sense to tell you about Tchaï of the Tiger, and our commitment alongside WWF France to supporting tigers in the wild.

2 years ago, we started a collaboration with WWF France. For every box of Tchaï of the Tiger purchased, €1 is donated to the Tx2 project launched in 2010 by the WWF, whose goal is to protect tigers in the wild.

And the results? A powerful organic black tea made with chai spices. Ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, black and pink pepper give this blend an incredible balance midway between strength and sweetness, inspired by the bewitching feline it helps protect.

2022: THE HIGHLIGHT OF TX2!
In 2010, when numbers of tigers were at their lowest, the governments of the 13 countries where these felines still live made a commitment to the WWF that together they would double the tiger population by 2022.
And now? There’s a celebratory, hopeful mood... Since the launch of Tx2, the numbers of tigers in the wild have definitely increased and efforts continue.
What does the Year of the Tiger have in store for us?
Over the past 100 years, the population of wild tigers has plummeted but has started to recover and is now increasing in: Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, and Russia.
But there is more to do still. Much more! In September the second Global Tiger Summit will take place and will reveal if the TX2 objective has been achieved. The Summit is also an opportunity for countries to renew their commitment to protecting tigers as governments set their goals for the next 12 years of conserving the species.
The tea leaves for our new organic blend, Tchaï of the Tiger are harvested by hand, in the garden of Thiashola, in South India.
India's first tea tree was planted here in 1853. Jagan Thimaiah, director of the organic plantation,
tells us about the rich history of a plantation that is a hundred years old as well as its vocation of preserving the plants and wildlife that surround it.
A NEW LUNAR YEAR?
The reason we are telling you about our iconic committed Tchaï of the Tiger tea is because we are entering the Year of the Tiger. The date that the sign changes is on the Lunar New Year, which takes place on 1 February, 2022, which is the day of the new Moon.
