A plain, premium, organic maté to be sipped throughout the day.
Don’t think twice about adopting this organic maté, a delicious drink that already has a firm following! Maté is made from the leaves of the “yerba maté,” a plant in the holly family which only grows in South America, specifically in northeast Argentina and southern Brazil near the borders with Paraguay and Uruguay.
Picked in the wild and consumed for centuries, it is now carefully grown and offers a delicate, vegetal flavor. Argentinians across all generations drink it from morning until night, at home, at work, in the street, in cities, and in the countryside. It is even nicknamed the “national beverage”!
Kusmi Tea succumbed to the charms of organic maté years ago, and now uses it in several recipes. Here, you can enjoy it in its simplest form: naturally pure so you can appreciate each specific note. It is said to have countless benefits, from its stimulating properties to its ability to boost focus and strengthen the immune system. It would be a shame to miss out!
Organic maté available loose because it’s good for the planet.
So the story goes, maté was already consumed by the Guarani people, who would chew it or leave it to soak in a hollow gourd with cold water to enjoy its full flavor profile. Today, Argentinians prepare it according to a well-established ritual, symbolizing their place within the community. In keeping with the longstanding method, they use a calabash (a recipient traditionally made with a dried squash), a bombilla (a long, thin tube used as both a straw and a filter), and hot water. Once it is ready, organic maté can be brewed several times over and enjoyed throughout the day!
