Also called “red tea” (translation from Afrikaans) because of the colour of its infusion, this plant belongs to the acacia family and has nothing in common with the traditional “Camelia Sinensis” tea except the way it is prepared and consumed.

This little bush exclusively grows in the high plateau of South-Africa; consumed there for more than 300 years, Rooibos has become the national drink in South Africa.

Green Rooibos is a non-fermented Rooibos; its slightly stingy taste reminds of green tea. It contains vitamin C and has the highest anti-oxidant content of all the teas. The popular custom gives Rooibos anti spasmodic and relaxing benefits.
